RGI Activity Guidelines

RGI works as a platform for experts and stakeholders to bring clarity in key aspects of the grid debate. Based on planning activities of partners like ENTSO-E, RGI contributes to developing a common vision of the required future grid architecture.

RGI demands a new mandate for energy regulators to enable the development of a European grid capable of rapidly and efficiently integrating renewable energies. The new mandate should include among others the tasks of developing the grid allowing the decarbonisation of the sector, speeding up implementation and the recognition of different risk profiles for different investments.

Through local stakeholder dialogue and tailored pilot projects RGI will develop a toolbox and a blue print on how to increase local acceptance for new grid infrastructure and renewable generation sites. The controversial issue of compensation will also be addressed and discussed with regulators in view of different approaches across European countries.
